Consultation of Newly Diagnosed Child with Special Needs

We provide a brief introduction which is important overview for the parent when a child is diagnosed with special needs. As we know having a child with special needs require focus and diligence. We help parent to reduce their fear, anxiety and trauma by providing counselling to family and suggestions for next steps journey for your child.

It is important to focus on the three core components of managing your child after the diagnosis.

Consultation of Newly Diagnosed Child with Special Needs

A. Conventional Therapy

Conventional therapies are the intensive early interventions provided to help the child:

  • Minimize inappropriate behaviours
  • Enable learning
  • Set and achieve goals and objectives

These therapies include:
One-on-one therapies such as Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA), Floortime, RDI and others, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy (OT) or Physical Therapy (PT).

B. Medical Therapy (Biomedical Therapy)

Special needs child presented with complex health issues which affecting their behaviours. Most individuals with special needs also have medical conditions. These conditions need attention and treatment. It is important to never let the excuse that "your child has special needs" be the reason for NOT TREATING a medical issue that requires treatment.

Medical therapies include:

  • Testing for genetic disorders and baseline blood testing.
  • Testing such as gastrointestinal, immune, allergy, metabolic, thyroid dysfunction, heavy metals toxicity, nutritional imbalance and others.

Medical therapies may be harder to grasp but diligent effort, research and persistence will pay off.

C. Keeping Family Healthy

One of the most devastating events to happen to a family is the diagnosis of a special needs child. Many families focus on the needs of the child while neglecting other children, spouse and family members. Even though time is precious - paying attention to these other relationships is key. Managing health of care takers is also important. Do not neglect your own health needs while caring for a special needs child. It’s important to note that special needs children do better in a two-parent family. Keeping family healthy is an important part of the component and should not be ignored.

Consultation on Biomedical Therapy

Special needs child presented with complex delay in growth and development due to co-morbid medical conditions that are common, and treatable. A co-morbid condition is an additional disease or disorder.

There are many co-morbid conditions:

  • Gastrointestinal: Inflammatory Bowel Disease; Chron’s Disease; GERD (Gastric Reflux); Colitis and symptoms like improper food digestion and absorption, dysbiosis of the gut, leaky gut.
  • Seizures
  • Brain & Blood Disorders
  • Mitochondrial Dysfunction / Disease
  • Methylation Defects
  • Heavy Metal Toxicity & Detoxification Issues
  • Persistent Fungus, Bacteria, Parasites and Virus Infections
  • Nutritional Imbalance
  • Neurotransmitter Imbalance
  • Allergies & Food Sensitivity

Treating those co-morbid conditions often results in the reduction of behaviours and can even lead to a recovery for some children.

Consultation on Biomedical Therapy

What is Biomedical Therapy?

The purpose of biomedical treatment is to optimize the physiological factors that impact brain function and development by investigating (testing) and treating underlying co-morbid medical conditions as mention above. Biomedical treatment entails using higher dose of certain vitamins and minerals to correct co-morbid medical conditions. Biomedical therapy should be used in conjunction with occupational, speech and other behavioural intervention.

Biomedical Tests & Related Medical Investigations

Biomedical Tests & Related Medical Investigations

Biomedical Testings

In order to test for individual underlying co-morbid medical conditions, some of the testing my family has done are:

  • Urine Organic Acid
  • Comprehensive Stool Analysis
  • Viral Panel
  • Toxic Metals/Red Blood Cell Elements
  • Essential Fatty Acids RBC Test (Blood)
  • Food Allergy Panel
  • Liver & Kidney Functions
  • Immunoglobin Profiles
  • Genetic Testing
  • Baseline Blood Testing
  • Thyroid Study
  • Ammonia Levels
  • Blood Clotting Profiles
  • EEG
  • MRI

Do remember! Each child are unique in their presentation of symptoms and co morbid medical conditions. Your child may not need above all the investigations. Always discuss and work with your doctor. Your doctor will only recommend necessary testing base on your child history and presentation.

Dietary, Nutrional and Medical Consultation

After the initial diagnosis and specific laboratory medical tests, we will provide family with dietary, nutritional and medical advices or protocol which are specific to your child. The dietary, nutritional, and medical treatments discussed here will usually help your child to improve slowly and steadily over months and years, but sometimes dramatically.

Always remember that there is no child with similar advices and treatment protocol as each child is unique in their own symptoms and behaviour. With the use of an evidence-based medicine approach, parents can get started with some simple biomedical treatments based upon the above laboratory testing and/or the child’s behaviours.

Even though these treatments are available without a prescription, it is best to be under a physician’s supervision whenusing these supplements and implementing significant dietary changes. The ideal treatment would be one that is well studied, proven to be effective compared to a placebo, not too expensive, safe and tolerable, and can be done at home.

Advance NeuroBrain Therapy

Various studies had linked dysfunction of neurons and synaptic activity with child with special needs. This dysfunction will cause many sensory behaviours problem and difficulty. Hence, we use combinations of detoxification (to remove heavy metals from body), oxygen therapy (to repair and support cells function) and scalar plasma energy therapy (to harmonize nerve functions) to correct brain dysfunction.

HYPERBARIC Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

HYPERBARIC Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen in a pressurized environment, at a level higher than 1 atmosphere absolute (ATA). Increased pressure allows for oxygen to dissolve and saturate the blood plasma (independent of hemoglobin/red blood cells). While an individual is under pressure, the oxygen molecules decrease in size and are able to dissolve into the blood plasma. This exponentially increases oxygen delivery throughout the body and makes it possible for oxygen to reach inflamed tissue and support optimal cellular and organ functionality. This non invasive therapy is the most trusted way to increase oxygen levels to all organs of the body. The typical treatment lasts for 60-90 minutes, during which the patient lies down and breathes normally.

HBOT has been demonstrated in several clinical studies to enhance the body’s innate ability to repair and regenerate. It is used as an adjunct therapy to complement and enhance the healing process in both chronic and acute conditions.

Rasha Electromagnetic Therapy

Rasha Electromagnetic Therapy

The RASHA Body-MIND-Spirit System is a scalar plasma energy device with the most advanced frequency generating software that protects, enhances and harmonizes the autonomic nervous system (ANS) by relieving stressors, transmuting negative habitual patterns, supporting relaxation, cellular detoxification and healing from electrosmog and geopathic stress.

This is morphogenetic scalar plasma energy mediation that is not based on the limited perspective or laws of Newtonian physics but rather it adheres to a much larger set of multidimensional morphogenetic field physics that impacts the cells on a quantum level, allowing for the reprogramming and repatterning of the morphogenetic fields surrounding every cell, organ and system of the body. In summary, it helps to improve both physiological and mental health especially in special needs child presented with mood dysfunction, anxiety, obsessive compulsive, aggression, sensory dysfunction, attention deficit, hyperactive, depression, psychotic behaviours and others.

Detoxification (Far Infra Red Sauna)

Far Infra Red Sauna Therapy

The necessity of body detoxification is now of utmost importance. Our bodies have become virtual dumping grounds for the hundreds of thousands of toxic compounds that invade our air, water, and even the soil that nurtures our food.

Environmental toxicity has never been more rampant than now with more than 77,000 chemicals are in active production in North America. More than 3,000 chemicals are added to our food supply; and more than 10,000 chemicals in the form of solvents, emulsifiers, and preservatives are used in food processing, packaging, wrapping, and storage.

Every day, all of us ingest tiny amounts of these chemicals. The EPA estimates there are more than 20,000 chemicals that our bodies cannot metabolize. Chemicals not metabolized are stored in the fat cells throughout our bodies where they continue to accumulate.

We must detox our bodies because as these chemicals build up, they alter our metabolism, cause enzyme dysfunction and nutritional deficiencies, create hormonal imbalances, damage brain chemistry, and cause cancer. Because the chemicals accumulate in different parts of the body and at different rates and in different combinations, there is a disturbingly large variety of different chronic illnesses that can result.

NEVER in Our Saunas contains:

  • Particle Board (which emits formaldehyde)
  • Plywood (which emits formaldehyde)
  • More than one kind of wood (so you know what you are getting)
  • Carbon heaters (energy wasteful, poor reliability, high electric field EMF, typically high magnetic field EMF)
  • Near infrared (damages eyes, accelerated skin aging)
  • Formaldehyde-based wood glues (common to most wood furniture)

Stem Cell Therapy (SCT)

Stem Cell Therapy (SCT) is no stranger in the field of clinical practice as it has been around for about 80 years. SCT is the leading biomedical science in the rapidly emerging field of regenerative medicine. SCT can potentially restore functions to injured, diseased and debilitated tissues and organs.

Stem Cell Therapy

Researchers grow stem cells in a lab. These stem cells are manipulated to specialize into specific types of cells, such as heart muscle cells, blood cells or nerve cells. The specialized cells can then be implanted into a person. For example, if the person has heart disease, the cells could be injected into the heart muscle. The healthy transplanted heart muscle cells could then contribute to repairing defective heart muscle.

In special needs child, due to neurobiological changes underlying brain development, cell-based therapies have been proposed and applied. SCT helps to reduce and improve behaviour-sensory issues, recovery of co-morbid medical conditions in child with special needs, hence improving their quality of life and activities of daily living.

The goal of SCT treatment is to help restore neurological functions and stabilize the immune system. Various kinds of improvement are possible after SCT and some case study patients have experienced the following:

  • Improved social interactions
  • Better communication
  • Improved speech
  • Improved learning ability
  • Decreased repetitive behavior
  • Improved mental development
  • Improved intestinal function
  • Stabilized muscle tone

Many patients and family with special needs child chose SCT as the answer to treatment to their child conditions despite knowing SCT is still a debatable therapy.
