Dr Yee Kok Wah is currently a general practitioner at Klinik Dr Yee in Melaka by practicing evidence based integrative and functional approach to treat medically complex mental health related illness and rare disease in both adult and children. He has special interest in treating Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD / ADD, Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disorder, mental health, and psychiatric in both adult and children.
Dr Yee received his Bachelor of Surgery and Medicine at Melaka Manipal Medical College and completed his medical training at Hospital Melaka.
Dr Yee completed his training in Biomedical Approach in Autism under Autism Research Institute, ARI, USA and Fellowship Programme with Medical Academy Of Paediatric Special Needs, USA. He is a certified neurofeedback practitioner (Singapore), Certified Diving (Hyperbaric) medical officer (Lumut).
He completed his training in Stem Cells Therapy (Bangkok). He is a member of International Association for Cell Therapy Switzerland and also a member of International Association of Stem Cell Transplantation USA. He received his MSC in Medical Aesthetic, Healthy Aging and Regenerative Medicine from UCSI in 2018. He served as Chairman of International Conference of Autism, Melaka in 2014.
Coming from NGOs background, Dr Yee is active in various NGOs activities mainly as medical adviser of Persatuan Kanner Melaka (Autism), medical adviser of Pertubuhan Raubhatulazim Melaka (ADHD), President of NASAM Melaka (Stroke), medical adviser for ST. John Ambulance Bachang Melaka, adviser for Young Malaysians Movement (Y.M.M).
He was appointed as Board of Visitor of Psychiatry Department in Hospital Melaka and Board of Visitor Of Henry Gurney School. He received State Award Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (B.C.M) in 2012.
He stand as a candidate for Parlimen Kota Melaka during the Malaysia 13th general election.
Mdm. Ng Kek Kuan served as a secondary school teacher, a lecturer at a teacher training college, and a principal of a secondary school for more than 19 years. She was awarded the Sabah Inventor Award (Pedagogy), Excellent Service Award, and was appointed as a trainer for smart school teachers.
After her son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, she left her teaching career and attended various international conferences, seminar and courses related to autism treatment and special education in Asia countries, Europe, Canada and United States. She then becomes an advocate for individuals with autism, strongly believes in and promoting “Autism Awareness, Acceptance and Action”. She was the Founder and Advisor of Sandakan Early Intervention Centre.
In 2010 Mdm. Ng was appointed as the Chairman of Persatuan Autisma Melaka Tengah (a NGO now known as Persatuan Kanner Melaka). She sets the vision, mission, motto, objectives and activities of the NGO. She planned and subsequently implementing the Ten Year Milestone of the NGO. In the first phase, ( 2010 – 2014) focuses on autism awareness whereas the second phase (2015 – 2019) focuses on acceptance for individuals on autism spectrum disorder. In that same year, she wrote a booklet on “About Persatuan Autisma Melaka Tengah, About Autism Spectrum Disorder” in 3 languages, namely Malay, English and Chinese, with the hope to educate the parents and the community to understand about autism and its symptoms, so as to have early diagnose and early intervention for the children on autism. She also initiated the “Walk for Autism at Melaka World Heritage City”, the first time in Malaysia and continues to be the Chief Planner of the event until today. The event aims to raise autism awareness, acceptance and action among the public.
In 2011, Mdm. Ng was appointed as the Education Advisor of the NGO. She is the founder of the Persatuan Kanner Melaka Special Education Centre. She developed the curriculum of the centre.
In 2012, Mdm. Ng was invited to share her life experiences in “Asia Eye” where she posted her article: Journey of Love and Hope.
In 2014. Mdm. Ng was appointed as the organising chairman of the ‘Autism, ADHD and Developmental Disorder - A Biomedical Approach’ International Conference in Melaka, first in South East Asia.
In 2016, Mdm. Ng was appointed as the Chairman Board of Directors of Persatuan Kanner Melaka. In the same year, she was appointed as the Chief Planner of Kanner Eco-Art Paradise, a project for young adults with special needs to live fulfilling, rewarding and independent lives.
In 2017, Mdm Ng was invited as speaker at the "11th International Horticultural Therapy Conference" held in Taipei, Taiwan. The title of the topic was "Persatuan Kanner Melaka: Implementation of Green Care Approach towards Healthy and Independent Education".
In 2018, Mdm. Ng was appointed as NGO Councillor, Melaka Historic City Council. In the same year she wrote the theme song of 9th Walk for Autism at Melaka World Heritage City “It’s Okay to be Different” in Malay, English and Chinese.
In 2019, Mdm Ng served as an integrative medicine volunteer of New York GC Rivera Foundation Medical/Surgical & Integrative Medicine Mission at Guimaras Island, Philippines.
